BIBI Moroccan rugs team has the experience accumulated by four generations of rugs dealers that have dedicated all their live to maintain the Moroccan weaving art alive and to preserve one of the most important private collections of antique Moroccan rugs of the world.
The director, Rabii Bibi, has been rounded by antique Moroccan rugs all his live, learning from early age from his grandfather the most important values of this business, trusting and honesty.
The trade in those days was something spectacular, the old roles of commerce between Africa and central Asia impregnated the businesses near to the Sahara desert with all its influence, and the contemporary sentence of “the customer comes first” comes from that era.
To provide the best examples, in the best condition, and in the best price, it was a must in that time, and the negotiation was a true art, nothing to see with the attitude of the present days found in the souks (local markets) in both sides, sellers and tourists.
THE RIAD, THE NEW PROJECT OF BIBI MOROCCAN RUGS
BIBI Showroom in Marrakech, “The Riad” is a wonderful place where culture, art, historical researches and of course, the good business meet.
The Riad is open to collaborate with Moroccan rugs enthusiasts and people related to Design, Decoration and any other form of Art that can share our love for the beauty, the knowledge and the nature.
The purity of the tribal way of life in Morocco until middle XX century and consequently its artistic understanding of the weaving art have been the right scenery to develop fascinating and expressive works of art.
In that ambient of authenticity were collected the fantastic masterpieces that today form the collection of Mr. Rabii BIBI. These antique rugs were made following high standards of quality in the past and nowadays those wonderful pieces are the source of inspiration when creating the new BIBI collections of Moroccan carpets and rugs.

The weavers are the main protagonists, they give the best of themselves to achieve extraordinary levels of mastery. They received this ancient art from their grandmothers favoring the richness of spontaneity over the fixed routines present in the urban workshops.
They work with true love everyday and all projects are taken with great care. The transmission of this precious Art is guaranteed with these talented women.
The goal of involving the entire BIBI Moroccan rugs team in preserving the ancient techniques have produced incredible beautiful textiles and rugs in our Atelier, they are pieces of a quality rarely seen in the Moroccan market, displaying high pile density, great balance of colors and creative designs.
Nowadays, where the massive production of rugs is common in the decor market, it is difficult to find a rug manufacturer that maintains the original system of weaving. BIBI contemporary rugs have the same artistic appealing than the original antique rugs and include similar technical principles than the best fine works made in the past.
